Satyam Delight continues- The Pune Chapter-II

There had not been even a single moment during my stay in Satyam when I felt like leaving the job as had been happening around me with my SIMSR batchmates . Frankly speaking the challenges had been absolute endearing so far. In my quest for success I met many leaders but a name worth mentioning here is that of Ramakrishna Jagadishan or just Ramki Sir.
The Ramki-Factor in my career
We were working on a proposal when I got the opportunity of meeting Ramki Sir. We were battling with the deadlines and about to call it a day for the proposal, when someone stormed into the cabin. The brisk walk , the baritone and the impeccable approach just dominated the next part of discussions. Such was the influence of Ramki sir that within few minutes of the conferencing we had chalked out the strategy to meet the deadline. Clearly the intensity ran so high that we decided to finish off the work before the morning even if it meant staying throughout the night in the office. I was totally charged up with adrenaline running high. To simply sum up Ramki sir’ personality was so dominating that any person around is completely committed to give more than 100% whatever comes in the way. He had definitely impressed me with all his tactics and whatever aggression I had developed so far in me should be credited to Ramki sir. With no doubts I can say that this person will have lasting impression even in my future.
The Yerwada Jail episode
There were certain incidents during this time that keep on reminding me about Pune time and again. These incidents go a long way in determining your perspective of life. One such incident was the Yerwada Jail incident. While working on one of the proposals, I got late and started from office at around 12:30 AM. The auto-rickshaws were missing and I started walking towards Pune central hoping to take the cool cab. Cool breeze was blowing as I was on the way. Hardly I had walked 100 metres when I saw a motorcycle coming. I just waved thinking it may stop and I could cover some distance. I was delighted when he agreed to give me this favour. The discussion started and the motorcyclist asked me where I was going. I replied Yerwada. At once he said that oh I know there is a jail in Yerwada and I was an inmate of the jail for some time. I got the shock of my lifetime. Gathering some courage I asked him the reason why he went there. The answer was Attempt to murder. He had some family feuds which had led to some conflict and the result was he had stabbed the person. I started perspiring. He added that he enjoyed the life in jail and really liked the jail food particularly butter chicken. He had just one regret that he had to work a bit. I asked him what sort of work he had done. He replied that he was doing some carpentry work. He had prepared some chairs which fetched him some 300 bucks. He advised me that every person should go to this jail at least once in a life time. I stopped him some 100 metres from the destination and thanked him for the help. Bidding goodbye he assured me to meet sometime yet again.
I think the best lesson that I learnt here was to remain courageous in whatever circumstance of life. Ofcourse after this incident I never went for hitch-hiking.

Respect her!!!

The time of Corona has brought in it the lockdown. Lockdown is the state of affairs when the whole world comes to stand still. Any change would carry with it the innate quality of inviting criticism both for and against it . Lockdown is no different. There may be people who are favouring lockdown while as there is a subset of our population which are against it too. My analysis is it happened for our good and we all need to bear this adventure. The best part of lockdown for me has been that the public broadcasting of the two mythological epics Ramayana and Mahabharata. Both these epics represent the ethos of Indian civilisation and how the Indian civilisation has evolved over the time. While the positives of the epics circulate through the veins and arteries of the nation, one aspect has been showing the ladies as sheer objectification. The epics have given a great moral to us    which invokes us to respect the women folk. These epics are really significant in the current d...

Back to blogging

A new post after a long hiatus. To be precise, I am writing this blog after more than two and a half years, a long break indeed. My flare for writing had just gone down but I feel in the current tumultuous times it happens to be the best way of showing the exasperation. Many things happened during this period. on professional, personal, national and international arena. Probably lot of things to share and discuss. The international stage still reeling under recession and so the national economy being crippled. A mood of change developing across the globe. A chain of corruption scams and scandals plaguing my country. Sports bringing India new achievements and what not? On professional side SBI ensured that I go back to Kashmir after the dreaded era of 1990. Kashmir my native and birthplace, always has a special place in the corner of my heart. On personal front I achieved the new feat. I graduated to fatherhood. So in all a lot of things to share and opine about. Happy reading:) ...
