Leh.. Lets Enjoy Here

Finally we come to the conclusion of our Leh so-journ. Hope you will enjoy reading it.
Leh has its own strengths and so has its weaknesses. It has always enticed people but owing to its geography and sparse population, the stay can be a challenge. One important tenet for enjoying tenure has to be the company in which you dwell. Thankfully and barring initial few months, the time spent in Leh has been well spent. The whole credit shall go to the amazing company we had together. Be it Saspol or Leh, the people around me were very encouraging and supportive. And during the later part of tenure, the arrival of Chief Manager Ramanjeet was just icing on the cake.  Raman Sir and I shared a great camaraderie. Infact, in the first meeting, we got together very well. Even our way of analysing the things was exactly similar. Although I was 60 kms from Leh main branch, yet we had developed instant friendship which continues till today and hopefully, flourishes in future. On holidays we would usually play the gentleman’s game. The cosco cricket balls were imported from Jammu by me sometimes and it was a challenge to play cricket at an altitude of 17000 ft. The most exhilarating part of cricket was bowling because it took a lot of efforts for running up and bowling quick there. We would eventually end up in the bed after the cricket game was done with. Few more months, we would have been ready with our cricket team.
Holidays also meant that we would go for sight-seeing around Leh. Although we had great time whether going to Khaltsi, Moonland, or even Stok but the one that was thrilling was the bike journey to Nubra Valley. Our group of five guys rented out few beasts- Royal Enfield Bullet and started off the journey. The first stop was at South Pullu where mandatory pass was to be obtained. Thanks to certain administration links we managed the same. As the steep slope got precipitous, we started having thrills. Looking down the mountains was getting hallucinations, till we reached the Khardungla top.  The Khandungla top would usually attract lot of tourists. Thankfully since our trip was not in the tourist season, the K-top wasn’t crowded. We relished the magi thee nd started off our descent towards Nubra which cooled our nerves. The descent was amazing amid the beautiful hills of Nubra and we were enjoying the journey . We were feeling hungry and  stopped at a place enjoying the omelette.  We reached Nubra at 7 in the evening. Considering the tiresome journey, we jumped in a hotel and ordered certain evening meals. My friends enjoyed certain pints while I settled for fruit mocktails. After the dinner was done, everyone was completely off forget about talking to anyone. Nubra valley has its innate attraction and I was in awe for it. The mountains were so charming with lush green plants around would ask for due magnetic effect. As we  started off the journey back, we took mandatory stops at the Disket monastary and along the river side. The black birds were riding so well that no one wanted to go back. Considering the tough journey, we   accelerated our way back to Leh. We reached Leh in the afternoon evening and had a gala time there. A trip worth remembering.
The friendship actually turned the time spent as the time well spent.
I can goon writing about the Leh but lets put it on hiatus and end the Leh tenure in the following few words.

O,the beautiful Leh
O,the beautiful Leh
You may be desolate
Or may be isolate
Yet you are the reason
That Life Energises Here
O.. The Beautiful Leh

The beautiful meadows
 Scenic through ocular windows
The desert road of Likir
Amazing yet separate
Indeed life freshens here
O... the Beautiful Leh

The wild top of Changla
Or the vicious curve of Khardungla
Not being the cowards’ arena
Enchanting yet startling
Making one realise that life is full of thrills
O... The Beautiful Leh

The Nubra valley
Presents the duplicity
Of greenery of a vale
Or the sand dunes of the waste
Alike to the life’s moments of hope and disdain
O... You  beautiful Leh

The Stok’s tranquillity
Attracts one away from the city
The merger at Sangam
An instance of pious union
Inspires the men to be together
In love and danger
O...The beautiful Leh

The Charmness of the men
The holiness of the land
The calmness of the ice
Makes you Leh
The freezing paradise
Adore  you O...the beautiful Leh

Lockdown diaries- The Covid Scare

Lockdown was implemented in the whole country to contain the spread of Covid 19. Our state or union territory is no different. But being the financial warrior, we had to be at the front fighting the deadly pandemic while serving our customer. We have also faced the brutality of this deadly pandemic with so many bankers losing life. Though every banker is cautiously treading through these difficult times, there were near miss incidents which every banker could have faced. Let me narrate an incident that happening during the lockdown which involved our own staff. It was Monday evening when I had just stepped into my room after day’s labour. I had just taken my evening bath when my phone started ringing. I was surprised to see a call from one of my lady colleagues because usually after the office time no calls take place. Within few minutes, another call came in and this time it was from my service manager. “Sir, Where are you?” He was quite subtle in his demeanour. With utter calmness,...

Respect her!!!

The time of Corona has brought in it the lockdown. Lockdown is the state of affairs when the whole world comes to stand still. Any change would carry with it the innate quality of inviting criticism both for and against it . Lockdown is no different. There may be people who are favouring lockdown while as there is a subset of our population which are against it too. My analysis is it happened for our good and we all need to bear this adventure. The best part of lockdown for me has been that the public broadcasting of the two mythological epics Ramayana and Mahabharata. Both these epics represent the ethos of Indian civilisation and how the Indian civilisation has evolved over the time. While the positives of the epics circulate through the veins and arteries of the nation, one aspect has been showing the ladies as sheer objectification. The epics have given a great moral to us    which invokes us to respect the women folk. These epics are really significant in the current d...
